Staff Training

Early in February Rachel, Bre, and Lily had the privilege of taking Tilly, Cocoa, Rocky, and Luca to a custom training session with Jimmy’s Dog Training in Wallington. It was an eye-opening experience, as each dog had similar challenges but required different approaches.

Cocoa came in with sky-high energy (12/10!), making it hard for her to focus. With some leash work and structured introductions, she quickly learned to tune in and make better choices.

Tilly wasn’t overly reactive but struggled with boundaries—she wasn’t thrilled about not being in control but learned to respect Jimmy’s leadership.

Rocky needed firmer corrections but showed great progress. When introduced to an intense Kelpie, he initially avoided interaction but made positive choices, earning his rewards.

Luca, with a history of biting, was tested to see how he’d handle pressure. Initially, he tried to escape, but when cornered, he chose to submit rather than react. By the end, he accepted Jimmy as the leader—even allowing belly rubs!

It was an incredible learning experience for both the dogs and our team, reinforcing the importance of tailored training methods. We’re excited to apply these lessons and continue helping our furry friends thrive!
